Building straw houses

First thing we (Neil and Ellie) did with our freedom was to go on a strawbale building course with Barbara Jones at Amazonails in Yorkshire. We've been meaning to do this for years.
Straw is cheaper, more insulated, more durable and a whole lot more sustainable than concrete. One day we might just build our own. Here's a mini-version being built by novices having a lot of fun......

Alaska

We worked as wildlife biologists in Alaska's Prince William Sound. The wild foods, wildlife, and the absolute silence among that scenery were a bit special.
